Offer Alert: New Dell XPS Gaming PC with Intel Alder Lake Processor, DDR5 RAM and RTX 30 Video Card Coming in January

Previously, the only PC option from Dell that offered an Intel Alder Lake processor, DDR5 RAM, and RTX 30 series video cards came in the form of the Alienware Aurora R13 gaming PC. At a cost of around $ 2,900 for an Intel Core i7 RTX 3080 combo, it’s out of reach for many people. Now, Dell has extended similar build options to its new 2021-2022 Dell XPS Gaming PC.

I recently built a new Intel PC for myself and was blown away at the cost of some of these new components. Right now, Intel and NVIDIA hold titles for the best gaming processors and GPUs on the market, but sourcing their products can be a nightmare. We should all know by now how hard it is to get hold of an RTX 30 series video card at retail. It is practically impossible to connect online. On eBay, an RTX 3080 video sells for over $ 1,600 (if you forgot, the MSRP of an RTX 3080 starts at $ 700). Your best bet would be to walk into a local Best Buy and hope your trip wasn’t just a waste of time.

It’s not even finished. Intel has released its new 12th gen Alder Lake processors, and they’ve proven to outperform the AMD Ryzen 7 and 9. Processors are readily available, but the costs for Z690 motherboards and DDR5 RAM are downright ludicrous. . DDR5, in particular, cannot be found anywhere other than eBay. 32GB of RAM costs it … and I’m not kidding … $ 900. The best option is to stick with DDR4, but there aren’t as many DDR4 cards available, and you’ll still have to pay over $ 200. The last difficulty is the compatibility of coolers. The vast majority of existing chillers, both air and AIO, do not come equipped with an LGA 1700 bracket. You will need to email your chiller manufacturer and request one. For many of these manufacturers, there is a shortage of LGA 1700 mounting brackets, and again, this will delay your build. Time is money.

Step into the new Dell XPS gaming PC

Compared to the previous Dell XPS chassis, this one is bulkier (27L versus 19L) and offers more space for the CPU and GPU area for much better air circulation. This is important because Alder Lake’s new processors can run hot under intense loads. In terms of durability, the new Dell XPS features a Z690 motherboard that supports the latest 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processors, DDR5 RAM, and RTX 30 series video cards on PCI-E 5.0. This proves that DDR5 RAM actually exists in nature. Your video card options are also great; Choose your choice of RTX 30 series video card, from RTX 3060 Ti to RTX 3090, just like with the Alienware Aurora R13. Perhaps the best news? According to Dell’s website, these configurations ship in late January.

Normally there would be naysayers claiming that you could build the same quality rig for a cheaper price. As long as you know how to find deals, it is certainly not far from the truth. But we live in a whole different world, knowing that supply and demand have killed price sensitivity. And we also have to take the weather into account. Technology is changing so rapidly that the value of our PC components is depreciating at a frightening rate. Waiting a few months for a current generation part is not necessarily the best option, especially if those “few months” can stretch over several months. Under these circumstances, Dell offers an incredibly powerful and stylish gaming platform with all the unobtainable components you could hope for, at a reasonable price and time. The only other sensible option is to go for AMD.
