The first album I remember was TLC Crazy Sexy Coolit was a gift from a different older brother and remains one of my favorite albums to this day.

What’s your favorite song right now?

Kendrick Lamar – N95.

Favorite lyric of all time?

It’s from America by Simon and Garfunkel. “Kathy, I’m lost, I said, even though I knew she was sleeping, I’m empty and in pain and I don’t know why”. If you listen to this in the context of the song, it comes out as a punch of raw emotion and honesty before Paul Simon quickly returns to the rest of the narrative. It sounds like a line from a theater script and Kathy was real, which makes those feelings real. The song is a masterpiece and sits firmly in my top three.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

By Marvin Gaye, mainly because it makes me feel good and the original is about must give it up seven minutes, so it lasts a bit longer than your average choice. However, I can’t help but think that Bob Marley songs never get old, so “Is this Love” would be a close second.
